Community School of Davidson's Brandon Ellington (left) received the Adam Fink Memorial Most Outstanding Player Award for his performance in the Laurie Cruse Christmas Classic. The award is named for the former Mount Pleasant High School boys basketball player (1995-98) who died on Sept. 29 after a 2 1/2-year battle with colon cancer. MOUNT PLEASANT – In Friday’s championship game of the Laurie Ann Cruse Christmas Classic boys tournament, Community School of Davidson lived up to its name because it felt like everyone played a part in its easy victory over host Mount Pleasant.
