A Rowan County woman died after police say she accidentally shot herself inside a Cabarrus County restaurant Saturday night.
The woman was identified as 28-year-old Madison Moore, who was a teacher at Knollwood Elementary School in Salisbury, according to her obituary.
Moore, of Landis, suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen after her 9mm Smith & Wesson gun from her pocketbook went off inside Ruby Tuesday around 7:20 p.m. on Wonder Drive in Kannapolis, according Concord police.
Police said Moore was taken to Atrium Health NorthEast where she died.
According to Moore’s obituary, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Central United Methodist Church in Monroe, and the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Gordon Funeral Service in Monroe.
