MOUNT PLEASANT — The Concord girls basketball team held Mount Pleasant to just four points in the first and third quarters, and the Spiders ultimately went on to take a 66-33 victory over the Tigers Friday night.

The Spiders ended a four-game losing streak and improved their season record to 2-6. Mount Pleasant lost its third game in a row and fell to 2-5.

Senior forward Akeya Wallace led the Spiders with 18 points, while Khalia Williams added 14. Emma Fisher and Savannah Fowler led the Tigers’ balanced scoring effort with seven points apiece.

The Spiders limited Mount Pleasant to just one field goal in the third quarter to break open a game they led 29-19 at halftime. The visiting Spiders used a 19-4 advantage in the stanza to cruise to their second win of the season.
