KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans are looking for a way to battle their way out of the middle of the pack in the South Piedmont Conference.
Trojans Coach Rich Williams said he will be looking for leadership from his seniors and for others on a young team to step up this season.
The Trojans made the 3-A playoffs and finished 6-6 in 2013 with a 3-5 mark in the SPC.
Seven starters return on defense and could be the strength of the team this season.
Northwest Cabarrus opens the season at West Stanly Aug. 22 and opens conference play Sept. 12, hosting South Rowan. Here is the complete schedule:
