Elizabeth Lohbauer

Cox Mill's Elizabeth Lohbauer, who won a state championship last month, is the 2019 South Piedmont 3A Conference Girls Golfer of the Year.

CONCORD – Cox Mill dominated the 2019 All-South Piedmont 3A Conference Girls Golf Team, as all but two spots on the squad went to the Chargers.

The leader of this year’s all-conference group is junior Elizabeth Lohbauer, who was named the SPC Player of the Year for the third season in a row.

Lohbauer’s biggest accomplishment of the season, however, was when she won the Class 3A state individual championship and led Cox Mill to the team title as well.

Cox Mill’s Moses Smith is the 2019 Girls Golf Coach of the Year after guiding the Chargers to the SPC championship and, of course, the 3A crown.

Five of the seven all-conference positions handed out went to Chargers. In addition to Lohbauer, Cox Mill’s other honorees are Riya Modak, Kennedy Brady, Brooke Sutton and Hailey Ellis.

The two remaining spots on the all-conference team went to Central Cabarrus’ Carsen Masterton and Northwest Cabarrus’ Leah Zsambeky.
