CONCORD – Senior forward Aniyah Tate controlled the boards Friday night, as the Cream of Cabarrus top-ranked Central Cabarrus girls basketball team took a 64-46 home victory over Jay M. Robinson.

Tate finished the night with 20 points and eight rebounds for the Vikings, who improved their record to 15-5 overall and 6-0 in the South Piedmont 3A Conference.

It was the eighth consecutive victory for the Vikings, who haven’t lost a game since the calendar flipped to 2020.

Senior guard Ja-el’ Miller tallied 19 points and seven assists for Central Cabarrus

Jay M. Robinson fell to 2-16 overall and 1-5 in SPC. Keyanna Farris posted 15 points for the Bulldogs.

The team was coached by Jay M. Robinson boys coach Lavar Batts Sr., who filled in for Alexis Hornbuckle, who was ill.
