CONCORD – The Concord boys soccer team made a clean sweep of the South Piedmont 3A Conference’s postseason awards.
The league announced Concord senior Carson Trott as the 2019 SPC Player of the Year, Spiders senior Emmanuel Konneh as the Keeper of the Year and their leader, Todd Tinsley, as the Coach of the Year.
Concord (25-2-2) also won the SPC championship this season and reached the Class 3A state semifinals, going deeper than any previous team in program history.
The Spiders also had the most players chosen for the all-conference team (six). In addition to Trott and Konneh, the squad included Steven Lozano, Alex Mondragon, Javier Ortiz and Carlos Alvarez.
Trott last week was named to the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association’s Class 3A All-State Team, on which he was also joined by A.L. Brown’s Johnny Duarte and Jay M. Robinson’s Grant Woodward.
A.L. Brown, which finished second in the SPC, had five athletes chosen: Duarte, Irvin Sierra, Mark Pinales, Asuncion Gonzalez and Axel Martinez.
Jay M. Robinson, the third-place team in the league, was represented by Grant Woodward, Fabian Cacerces, Luis Hernandez and Jacob Woodward.
Northwest Cabarrus had three of its players chosen for the all-conference team: Riley Browning, Zeke Senegal and David Diaz.
Central Cabarrus and Cox Mill each had two players honored. The Vikings’ representatives are Diego Cabrera and Ellis Sheridan. For the Chargers, it was Jacob Diaz and Ethan Ratliff.
