KANNAPOLIS Dorothy Gail Swan Wilson, 74, of Fairview Street in Kannapolis, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at her residence. She was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Cabarrus County to the late Stew Swan and the late Loretta Johnson McCrae. Dorothy graduated from the G.W. Carver High School and attended Rowan Cabarrus Community College. She was formerly employed by Fieldcrest Cannon. Dorothy was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, missionary, Church Announcer, van driver and she sang with the Hymn Choir, Gospel Lite Choir, S.A.L. Choir, Inspirational Choir, Mass Choir and Angels of Faith. Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Those left to cherish fond memories include a daughter, Angela Darlene Wilson of the home; a son, Kerry Graylen Wilson (La Tonya) of Kannapolis; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ronnie McCrae, Kenny McCrae, Kevin McCrae and Rodney McCrae, all of Kannapolis; one sister, Ruby McCauley of Concord; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
