ELBERTON, Ga. Mrs. Lois Rebecca Petrea Webb, 89, resident of Magnolia Estates, formerly of Lake Forest, Elberton, Ga., wife of 63 years to the late Hansel Ayers "Billy" Webb, passed away peacefully Friday, May 31, 2019, at Nancy Hart Nursing Center, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Webb was born in Kannapolis, in Rowan County, Nov. 12, 1929, daughter of the late George Washington Petrea Sr. and Bernice Ward Petrea. Lois was a 1950 graduate of Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for many years, eventually retiring from Spring Valley Health Care Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and the church's Lydia Sunday School Class. Lois was Past Matron of Order of Eastern Star Rose M. Ashby Chapter 550. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Mike and Glenda Webb of Elberton, Rebecca and Dennis Lam of Martinez, Ga.; grandchildren, Bridget Graham, Brian Lam, Derrick Webb, Stephen Lam; great-grandchildren, Aiden Self, Boston Graham, Baylee Graham, Dillan Webb; and a host of nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret Petrea, Faye Monteith, Jeanette Petrea, George W. Petrea Jr. and E. Ray Petrea. A funeral service celebrating her life was held Monday, June 3, at 3 p.m., in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home in Elberton, with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Interment followed in Elmhurst Cemetery. Eastern Star rites were rendered. The family received friends for two hours prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lydia Sunday School Class and Rose M. Ashby Order of the Eastern Star.
