SALISBURY Dorothy Louise Parker Rose, 88, of N. East Avenue, Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at her residence. She was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Bogalusa, La., to the late Rev. Charlie Parker Sr. and the late Fannie Richardson Parker. Dorothy graduated from the Louisiana Public Schools and also received her Associate Degree. She was a member of Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church, 1425 Mt. Moriah Church Rd., in Landis. Visitation will be 12 to 1 p.m., with funeral services at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John H. Parker, Charlie Parker Jr., Mayfield Parker, Robert L. Parker, Herbert D. Parker Sr., Idelia P. Williams, Josephine P. Moore, Ethel P. Sutton, Melinda P. Griffin, Katherine P. Evans, Hazel P. Norris. Those left to cherish fond memories include special friend and caretaker, Pamela Saunders; special nephews, Bruner Rose (Patsy) of Kannapolis, the Rev. Charlie Parker (Tammy) of Bogalusa, La.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clark Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Rose family.
