ROCKWELL Mr. Paul Gibson Perkins of Mt. Pleasant Road in Rockwell, formerly of Marshville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. James Strickland. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 a.m. Paul was born March 6, 1939, in Concord to the late James Goldston Perkins and Blanche Alexander Perkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Floyd Perkins; son, James Grady Perkins; and four brothers and sisters. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from S&D Coffee as Fleet Maintenance Manager. Paul enjoyed working in Pat's garden, keeping his cars spotless, and camping in the mountains of North and South Carolina. He and Pat were members of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Paul is survived by children, Barry Perkins and wife, Sandy, of Rockwell, Debbie Perkins Allison and husband, Aaron, of Marshville; grandchildren, Jessika and Travis Perkins, Candace and Valerie Allison; and his beloved cat, Smokey Bob.
