KANNAPOLIS Clyde Randolph Neal, 69, of Bridgeport Drive in Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Atrium Health NorthEast. He was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Cabarrus County, to the late Walter Neal and the late Frances Smith Neal. Clyde was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was formerly employed at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis. Services will be held today (Friday, Aug. 9), at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the National Cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Buford Neal; and sisters, Peggy Drye and Ida Haynie. Those left to cherish fond memories include two daughters, Alisha Neal (Eugene Clowney), Selina Neal, both of Kannapolis; three sons, Randell Neal (Yvonne), Walter Neal, Gerald Reeves (Tina), all of Kannapolis; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; companion, Cynthia Meadows of Kannapolis; six stepchildren; 20 stepgrandchildren; sister, Linda Ann Neal of Kannapolis; aunt, Shirley Freeman (Pete); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
