May 31, 1937 - May 4, 2020 Sarah Lee McCorkle, 82, of Concord Lake Road in Kannapolis, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at her residence. She was born May 31, 1937, in Cabarrus County, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and U.V. Barnhardt. Sarah was educated in the Kannapolis City Schools system and was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School. She was formerly employed with Fieldcrest Cannon Mills. Sarah was a member of Blessed Assurance Church where she was a former member of the Missionary Board, Usher Board and Women's Choir. She was currently the Mother of the Church. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 8, at 2 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander McCorkle; her daughter, Tabitha McCorkle; and her son, Ronnie McCorkle. Those who remain to cherish her fond memories are her daughter, Taran (Terri) Davis of China Grove; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Michelle Denning of Laurinburg and Derrick Maxwell of Kannapolis; daughter-in-law, Coral McCorkle of Kannapolis; nephew, Keith Maxwell of Kannapolis; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
