CONCORD On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, Marjorie "Jody" Josephine Kolaya passed away quietly at home at the age of 89 after battling Alzheimer's Disease and lung cancer. She may be best remembered for the 17 years she spent working at Handy Pantry on Branchview and Derita. After retiring, Jody helped run Exotic Animal Rescue of NC with two of her daughters, nursing back to health animals ranging from lion cubs, birds of prey, llamas, and once, a bear cat, in addition to the many dogs that they fostered, adopted, rescued, and helped. She especially loved her two tortoises. Jody was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Kolaya; and sister, Mary Saalwaechter. She is survived by three daughters, Linda, Debra, Michelle; three grandchildren, Anthony, Heather, Rachel; five great-grandchildren, Justice, Caelan, Hunter, Cailey, Khloe; and her niece, Marion. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1076, Mt. Pleasant, NC, 28124; or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, www.alzinfo.org. Condolences may be left at www.wilkinsonfuneralhome.com.

Mily

Hi. My name is Mily. I live in Concord city. Sorry for you lost. I'm find hope in Bible verses. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 said "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God".
