CONCORD Lance Foster Furr, 78, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at home, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Furr was born Oct. 19, 1940, to the late Roland Foster Furr and Margaret Ann Furr. Mr. Furr graduated from Hartsell School in 1960, and then served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years. He then went to work for Collins & Aikman for the next 36 years. Mr. Furr enjoyed spending time outside with his family and spending time with his Brimgham Rollers. A celebration of life will be held Monday, Sept. 30, at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, 59 Green St. S.W. in Concord, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Rodney Quesenberry officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lunda Linker Furr; daughter, Lunda Michelle Furr of Wadesboro; son, Lance (Pam) Foster Furr Jr. of the home; two grandsons, Travis (Whitney) Lee Pope and Daniel Jacob (Alexa) Sims of the home; granddaughters, Hannah Revis and Sierria Collins; five great-grandchildren, Julie Woodward, Derrick Woodward, Adriel Sims, Jay Sims and Jace Sims; and brother, Roland (Eloise) Eugene Furr of Rayford. Cabarrus Funeral Cremation & Cemetery is serving the Furr family.
