CONCORD Janie Mae Dugger, 86 of Flowe St., Concord passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Atrium Health-NorthEast. She was born Oct. 5, 1933, in Concord, to the late Fred Young and the late Mamie Gaines Young. Janie was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools and last attended Logan High School. She was formerly employed by Shogren Hosiery Mills. Janie was a member of Gilmore Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, where she has served on the choir, was a member of the Lay Council, Missionary Society and Kitchen Committee. Services will be held at Gilmore Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 762 Central Dr., in Concord, (today, Sunday, Nov. 3), at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dugger, Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Loretta Renee Johnson, Lakewood Ranch, Fla., and Catherine Ann Caldwell, Yadkinville; two sons, Ronnie Thomas Young, Concord, and Michael Anthony Caldwell, Concord; sister, Martha F. Brooks, Concord; stepson, Larry Allison, Concord; stepdaughter, Elisha Michelle Allison, Concord; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Joyce Alexander, Concord, Janice Shankle, Kannapolis, Velma Gabriel, Concord, Jacqueline Reid, Kannapolis, Frances Gail Brackett (Ronald), Greenville, S.C., Melanie Grant, Charlotte, Linda Young, Detroit, Mich.; and a host of other relative and friends.
