April 2, 2008 - January 24, 2020 Zion Dayshawn Crudup, 11, of Pacific Court in Kannapolis, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at Atrium Health-Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. He was born April 2, 2008, in Durham County, to Mark Clayton and Jessica C. Crudup. Zion was currently a student at Forest Park Elementary School in Kannapolis. Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St., Kannapolis, NC 28083. A visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., with funeral services at 1 p.m. Zion was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Crudup and Vernalla Crudup; and his paternal grandfather, Larry Clayton. He leaves to cherish fond memories his mother, Jessica C. Crudup of the home; his father, Mark Clayton of Durham; two sisters, Aniyah Crudup of the home and Ashanti Winston of Durham; two brothers, Jameel Crudup of the home and Anthony Clayton of Durham; paternal grandmother, Shirley Clayton of Durham, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
