Concord Mrs. Nancy Ann Cochran Cress, of Miller Avenue, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at her home. Her funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Forest Hill United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Mandy Jones. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 p.m., prior. Nancy was born April 22, 1945, in Natick, Mass., and was raised in Birmingham, Ala. She was the daughter of the late William Earl Cochran Jr. and Jean Campbell Cochran. She was also preceded in death by brothers, W.E. "Butch" Cochran III, and Steve Cochran. After moving to Charlotte, she graduated from Kings Business College and was employed by the Cabarrus County School System. Nancy was a devoted member of Forest Hill U.M.C., where she served as past President of the United Methodist Women, was a member of the Singing Saints, and assisted with Friday hotdog sales. She loved golfing, camping, square dancing and visiting their getaway in the North Carolina mountains. Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Tracy S. Cress; sons, Sam Cress and wife, Kristie, Alan Cress and wife, Nancy, all of Concord; grandchildren, whom she adored, Hailey, Logan, Greta, Kevyn, Walker, Katherine; brothers, Tommy Cochran and wife, Mary, Chuck Cochran and wife, Marleen, both of Charlotte; and caregiver, Katharine Wheeles.
