KANNAPOLIS Melvin Caldwell, 61, of 531 Cooper's Ridge Dr. in Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, in Concord. He was born March 9, 1958, in Cabarrus County, to the late Grover Bossey Caldwell and the late Mary Alice Harris Caldwell. Melvin grew up in the Shankletown, Sidestown, and Rock Hill communities, where he was always surrounded by family, neighbors and friends. He attended public school in Cabarrus County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Marie Caldwell, and brother, Kelvin J. Caldwell. Those left to cherish fond memories include daughter, Tamika Bostick; grandchildren, Mekiyah, Dennoire, Dennijae, Jonathan, Jayce and Zoey; nephew, William Caldwell; great-nephew, Brycen Fisher; an aunt, Estelle Caldwell; uncle, Vernon Pharr; numerous cousins and friends; and Julie S. Gray, a very special lady in Melvin's life will miss him immensely. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 30 Union St. N. in Concord. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations will be greatly appreciated and can be made directly to Clark Funeral Home of Kannapolis.
