Mt. PLEASANT Kenneth W. Broome, 83, went to be with The Lord, Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019. He was born to the late Martin Broom and Mollie Kindley, Feb. 22, 1936, in Charlotte. Kenneth was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, James, Johnnie, Martin, Ray and David. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ellen Louise Broome; children, Kenneth A. (Ana) Broome, Cynthia (Bill) Brewer; Pam (Larry) Eudy and Margaret Broome; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Russell) Mayrand of Pensacola, Fla., and Betty Mae (Conrad) Hostetler of Ocala, Fla. He was a lifelong family man and loving husband, who enjoyed bowling and family get-togethers. His occupations included textile engraving, auto mechanic and warehouse distribution at the T.J. Maxx store located in Concord Mills mall. A visitation will take place Friday, Nov. 8, at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Rd. in Charlotte, beginning at 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m., officiated by Dr. Jeff Lethco of North Side Baptist Church, Greenwood, S.C.
