KANNAPOLIS Ray Anthony Allison Sr., 56, of Green Ridge Lane in Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, in Concord. He was born July 20, 1963, in Pensacola, Fla., to Guerleane Weathers Allison and the late Thomas Allison. Ray graduated from A.L. Brown High School and operated Allison Painting. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he has served as a drummer, on the Usher Board, and sung with the Revelation Quartet and in the choir. Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with funeral services at 12 p.m. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Ray Allison Jr. Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Melinda Allison of the home; one son, Joshuae Dyke of Warren, Pa.; three daughters, Kia Allison and Ranesha Allison, both of Kannapolis, Jessica Dyke of Sugar Grove, Pa.; mother, Guerleane Allison of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; three brothers, John Allison (Priscilla) of Kannapolis, Rod Allison (Kimberly) of Creedmore, Darrell Allison (LaNica) of Morrisville; two sisters, Sharon Allison-Ottey of Silver Springs, Md., Tonya Allison of Pensacola, Fla.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
