KANNAPOLIS Ray Anthony Allison, 56, was taken from this earth suddenly Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. Memorial services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 1209 Opal St. in Kannapolis, Thursday, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m., with remembrances and remarks from friends. The homegoing celebration/memorial service will begin promptly at 3 p.m., with a repast immediately following. The Allison family will receive friends and loved ones at 298 Esther Circle in Kannapolis. Ray was born July 20, 1963, in Pensacola, Fla., and relocated with his family at a very early age to his lifelong home in Kannapolis. He was a member of the A.L. Brown High School Class of 1982. He was an expert residential and commercial painter. Ray was a people person who always had a smile; a joke or a word of encouragement. Ray is survived by his wife of three years, Melinda Monticue Allison; mother, Guerleane W. Allison; children, Kia Allison, Ra'Nesha Allison, Marquis Jenkins (Heather); and grandchildren, Raven Hill, Nyla Maxwell, Ray'Niah White, and Martin White III; siblings, John Allison (Priscilla), Sharon Allison-Ottey, Md., Tonya Allison, Darrell Allison (La Nica), Roderick G. Allison (Kimberly); and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and extended family members. Our beloved Ray Anthony Allison was taken suddenly from us but he leaves a legacy of his love, his personality and memories with us which will last forever in our hearts.
