It’s a big weekend in Cabarrus County for thousands of students as they celebrate the end of their high school careers.

There are nine graduations this weekend and over 2,800 members of the Class of 2019 will receive diplomas.

Graduation information for A.L. Brown High School

A.L. Brown High School will hold its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2019 on Saturday, June 15 at 9 a.m. in A.L. Brown Memorial Stadium. Over 340 seniors will march in the commencement ceremony lead by the A.L. Brown Junior Marshals. More than 100 seniors will graduate Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude.

A.L. Brown High School will host an Honors Breakfast prior to Graduation for those students who have achieved Honors status due to the dedication they’ve put forth during their four years at A.L. Brown High School. Honors seniors and their families will attend this special graduation event.

Altogether, the Class of 2019 has been awarded more than $4 million in scholarships. Over 25 seniors have received 'full rides' to universities and colleges in North Carolina and surrounding states.

Jamal Smith, student council president will make the welcome speech. The keynote speaker will be A.L. Brown English teacher Larry Efird. He was selected by the graduates of the Class of 2019 to be their commencement speaker.

Cabarrus County Schools graduation information

All graduations for Cabarrus County Schools will take place in the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center located at 4751 NC-49 in Concord on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15. The district will graduate approximately 2, 500 students this year, including the members of the Early College High School class that graduated back in May.

Cox Mill High School at 12:30 p.m.

Hickory Ridge High School at 4 p.m.

Jay M. Robinson High School at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 15

Mount Pleasant High School at 9 a.m.

Northwest Cabarrus High School at 12:30 p.m.

Concord High School at 4 p.m.

Central Cabarrus High School at 7:30 p.m.
