A Kannapolis building was destroyed after a fire on Main Street Thursday morning.
Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 23 Kannapolis Fire received a call regarding a fire at a business located at 915 S. Main Street.
Firefighters responded to find the one story building in flames.
Three business locations were damaged. A former appliance repair store, is a total loss. A clothing store has significant damage and a third, the Main Street Business Center, has smoke damage.
One firefighter, Steven Tilley, was injured during the incident by debris from a ceiling. He was taken to the hospital where he will spend the night for observational purposes.
This was a four alarm fire and Kannapolis Fire was assisted by various departments from Cabarrus County and Rowan County, Concord and Harrisburg.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
