OCT fire

CONCORD- The Concord Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Old Courthouse Theatre on Spring Street NW Thursday morning.

The 911 call was made by a passing motorist just after 11 a.m.

Upon arrival crews confirmed smoke showing from a window on the second floor of the building. After initial search, it was confirmed that the building was without any occupants and fire was located in a single room on the second floor. Approximately 16 firefighters were on scene and were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arrival. After extinguishment of the fire, smoke damage was found in neighboring rooms.

At this time Concord Fire Department investigators are on scene. Cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Spring Street from Grove Avenue to Cabarrus Avenue was blocked temporarily due to the fire.
