ROCKWELL – A new priority for students at South Rowan High School this school year is community service and that service shined on the campus of Nazareth Child & Family Connection on Friday, Aug. 9.
A large group of South Rowan High School seniors spent a good portion of Friday afternoon hard at work on the Nazareth grounds. They spread four dump trucks of mulch around trees and in flower gardens, trimmed bushes and were involved in general cleanup.
During the first three days of school, which started on Wednesday, Aug. 7, seniors volunteered at 10 community sites, putting in more than 500 hours of community service.
Mulch for the project was donated by Yarbrough Tree Service.
