Come celebrate Bost and Dry Family Day at 3 p.m. at Reeves Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. The church is located at 4955 Hamby Branch Road, Concord. The Rev. Robin Stitt is the pastor.

First Congregational United Church of Christ, 248 Tournament Drive, Concord, will celebrate the 17th Anniversary of Rev. Edward L. Holloway at the 10 a.m. worship service. Rev. Dr. Donna White Cook of the Morris Hill Baptist Church family in Charlotte will be the guest pastor.

Join Forest Hill United Methodist Church for a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at the Kerr Street Activities Building (419 Kerr St. NW, Concord,) from 5 to 7 p.m. All proceeds and donations will go to support our Tuesday Community Meal Ministry, which is held in the Activities Building each week. Come out for food, fellowship and to support this important ministry!

  

Tuesday, Aug. 6

The Senior Citizens at Living Water Church of God Advanced Youth Group, 60 and over, will meet at 2 p.m. Seniors’ get-together is to start finding ways to help the community. Tuesday

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at noon at Kannapolis Church of Christ, 2315 Concord Lake Road, Kannapolis. Contact Pat for more info at 704-305-3073.

Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 204 N. Little Texas Road, offers free tutoring for any subject in grades K-12 on Tuesday’s from 5-6:30 p.m. For more information, call 812-827-9134.

A nondenominational prayer breakfast is held on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. at Troutman’s Barbecue, 362 Church St. N., Concord. There will be breakfast, Bible study, prayer and fellowship. For information, call Ed at 704-794-3100.

Wednesday

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, 301 Mount Olivet Road will have a Bible discussion round table on Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m. The study will be David Jeremiah’s “Facing the Giants in Your Life.” Workbook is available. Come enjoy the lively discussions.

The food pantry at Shady Brook Baptist Church, 1009 Oakwood Ave., Kannapolis, will serve the Kannapolis area each Thursday from 1:30-3 p.m.

New Hope Lutheran Church, 1615 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, holds a Noon Bible study covering relevant topical discussions. Study materials not required, bring yourself, a notepad, and a desire to grow. Class lasts approximately 45 minutes. Call the church office at 704-932-3716 for more information. 

Calvary Baptist Church, 703 Buick Ave., Kannapolis, has a food pantry open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Entrance is near church office door.

 

Saturday

Covenant Presbyterian Church USA, 5835 Charlie Walker Road, Kannapolis, will host a food pantry every second and fourth Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

The first Saturday of each month, New Hope Lutheran Church, 1615 Brantley Rd. Kannapolis, offers a free lunch for the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 pm. Lunch includes a hot dog, drink, side, and dessert with a time of devotion and fellowship. Everyone is welcome, call the church office at 704-932-3716 for more information.
