Phi Chi wins top honor

On May 2-5 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel at Research Triangle Park in Durham, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. held its 74th Annual Sixth District Meeting. District Marshal, Dr. Jim Harper, II along with the Star-Studded Beta Phi Chapter, served as graceful hosts for this year’s meeting.

The annual district meeting serves not only as an opportunity for brothers to conduct official fraternal business it also welcomes their families for a weekend of fellowship.

As the meeting’s scheduled sessions took place, the highlight of it culminated at the Founders’ Banquet on Saturday evening May 4. This ceremony honors the diligence of individual brothers and chapters throughout the district for their exceptional work in the community.

This year the Phi Chi Chapter of Concord was not only the recipients of the Social Action Small Graduate Chapter of the Year Award but for the second consecutive year the chapter was recognized with the coveted Small Graduate Chapter of the Year Award. Chapter member Bro.

Keon Lewis was also recognized as the Mighty Sixth District Superior Service Award winner.

Lead by the leadership of Basileus Travis Alexander and Vice Basileus Tommie Hanks, Phi Chi is extremely honored to receive these prestigious awards and strives to continue serving the Cabarrus County community with great pride.
