The Cabarrus County Board of Education is expected to take action on the possible closing of Beverly Hills Elementary School this week.
The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 28 to discuss the issue. School officials said there will be no public comment allowed at this meeting. A public hearing was held on the issue earlier this month and over 40 people spoke in support of keeping the school open.
Supporters also expressed their concerns to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners at a recent meeting when the discussion on funding a new R. Brown McAllister Elementary School was tabled.
The meeting will also include a request for approval of the final budget amendments for Fiscal Year 2017-18.
The meeting will be in the board room at the Education Center which is located at 4401 Old Airport Road in Concord.
