William McCacheren of Harrisburg celebrated his 100th birthday Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019.
He was married to Ruth Cline McCacheren until she passed away at the age of 94 in 2016. They were married for 71 years.
William has a son, King McCacheren, and a daughter, Sharon Twitty. His grandchildren are Rebecca Stoudt, Matthew Howell, Lora McCacheren and Patrick McCacheren. He has five great-grandchildren, Peyton Stoudt, James Stoudt, Jackson Stoudt, Rory McCacheren and Martha Howell.
William is a World War II veteran. He worked as a Concord mail carrier back when they walked all of Concord to deliver the mail. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was an active participant with Habitat for Humanity.
He has been a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg for nearly 80 years.
William is in excellent health and walks daily even now. His hobbies throughout his life have included restoring old cars, building and fixing things around the home. He enjoys gardening and maintained a large garden in Harrisburg.
On Oct. 6, William was honored with a party hosted by family and Rocky River Presbyterian Church.
