Ladies of the Coltrane-Harris Chapter No. 2076, United Daughters of the Confederacy, recently presented more than 90 gift and goodie bags to Concord police officers as a thank you for their service to the community.

Members of the group gathered at the home of President Deloris Clodfelter’s home. They brought in their donations of baked cookies and candies, as well as multiple goodies and packed more than 90 gift/goodie bags. Included in each gift bag was a police flag and a special thank you note to the city of Concord Police Department’s men and women who patrol the streets and keep residents safe every day.

The group said it was a fun, rewarding time for all involved to show the Concord police that its members are appreciated.

The bags were delivered by Clodfelter and Registrar Donna Delaney to Sgt. Curtis Anderson for distribution.

The thank you cards said this:

“The ladies of the Coltrane-Harris Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, wish to thank you for your service to our communities to keep us safe.

“You do so much work daily behind the scenes we never see, but we feel the safety it provides us. We hope this little goodie bag will brighten your day in a special way.

“May God bless you and protect you each day.
