A Kannapolis man was convicted of felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a three-day trial in Rowan County Criminal Superior Court this week.
WBTV reported that Isaiah Montique Cuthbertson was sentenced to a minimum of 14 months to a maximum of 26 months in prison.
The Kannapolis Police Department was dispatched to Cuthbertson’s residence at the request of DSS on March 21, 2016. When they arrived they noticed an odor of marijuana and Cuthbertson’s girlfriend gave them consent to search the residence.
WBTV reported officers located a 9mm firearm under Cuthbertson’s pillow. He had previously been convicted of felony breaking and/or entering and felony possession of stolen goods.
