Jurassic Bark

The Jurassic Bark event is set for Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, located at 4751 NC Hwy. 49 in Concord.

The Mt. Pleasant Animal Rescue recently announced its first major fundraising event; Jurassic Bark.

Mt. Pleasant Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, caring for and finding homes for unwanted, abandoned animals in the area.

The event will be held on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, located at 4751 NC Hwy. 49 in Concord. Ticket prices are $10 per person for ages 4 and up.

The group’s present, Carol Miller, says proceeds from the event will help obtain a facility to house the animals it rescues and cares for. A building will make it possible to rescue more animals and provide a place for potential adopters to come meet their perfect pet.

The main attraction of the event will be Dakota and Friends; a fantastic Tyrannosaurus Rex and his many dinosaur pals. The Dakota and Friends troupe has appeared regularly at Charlotte’s ImaginOn as well as many other events around the area.

In addition to Dakota and Friends, the event will include other activities for kids and adults of all ages like digging for dinosaur bones, rides, face painting, watching the hatching of a dinosaur egg and more. Learn how to care for your dinosaur from Dr. Dennis Orr of Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital.

Representatives from Camp Happy Hound in Concord and Spay it Forward will also be in attendance.
