Here’s what’s happening at the Cabarrus County Public Libraries:

Concord Library

Thursday, Feb. 13

Preschool Story Time — Stories, songs, finger plays and more. Ages 3-5, with caregiver. 10 a.m.

Book Babble — We’ll discuss and write about the books we read (Feb. 13: Roald Dahl), then look at related titles. Ages 7-12. 1 p.m.

DNA Drop-In Time — Have you taken a DNA test for genealogy? Do you need help understanding your results and what you can do with them? Drop in during this time for some one-on-one help. Be sure to bring your user name and password, or any other information you need to view your test results. 10-11:30 a.m.

Adult Sensory Program — Adults with autism spectrum disorder, sensory integration issues, and other developmental disabilities and their caretakers are invited to a sensory program. Full of stories, crafts and interactive activities, the program will create a great opportunity to meet friends and engage in the community. 10:30 a.m.

Teen Advisory Board — If you are interested in giving back to the community, developing leadership skills and earning volunteer hours, then the Teen Advisory Board is for you. New members are welcome. Ages 13 to 18. 5 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 14

Music & Movement — Join us for a fun and energetic program of nonstop movement, dance, interactive stories and music. Ages 3-5, with caregiver. 10:15 a.m.

Saturday, Feb. 15

College Prep 101 — Spent all year studying? Are you interested in learning how to improve your test scores? Take a free practice test at the library. Register online at princetonreview.com/cabarruscounty. Reservations required. Ages 16 and up. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (SAT).

And the Church Said Amen! African American Religious Research — Are you researching the history of your congregation or family? Genealogist and scholar Tim Pinnick shares tips and strategies for successful research in African American religious resources. 1 p.m.

Preschool Picassos — Does your child love to make messy art? Then join us for collaborative, process-based art at the library. You will get messy, so wear old clothes. Ages 3-5, with caregiver. 10:30 a.m.

Share the Love Crafternoon — It’s time to share the love for your local library. Drop in for books, scavenger hunts, crafts, and other activities. Family. 3-5 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 15

Chess Club — Do you enjoy playing chess? Come play against others, test your skills and make new friends at our chess club. All ages. 2-5 p.m.

Sleepy Story Time — Wind down after a busy day with bedtime stories and soothing songs. Come in your jammies and bring your favorite stuffed animal to cuddle. All ages. 6 p.m.

Complete Your Advance Directive — Join us for a series of advance directive planning workshops, presented by Atrium Health. Atrium Health will explain how to review and complete health care power of attorney and living will forms. The workshops will offer free notarization of advance directive forms as well as guidance on what to do with them once they are complete. You can drop in at any point during these times. Most people spend about 45 minutes at the event. 5-7 p.m.

Anti-Valentine’s Piñata — Feeling crushed? Crush back! Join us for piñata decorating and other anti-Valentine’s activities. Ages 12-17. 4 p.m.
