Sunday, Oct. 13

Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Ave., Kannapolis, will celebrate its 82nd anniversary with homecoming. The celebration begins with a concert by The Montgomery Trio from 9:30-10:15 a.m. The worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m., with The Montgomery Trio singing during the service and David Simpson providing the message. A traditional homecoming meal will follow. Everyone is invited.

Mount Moriah Evangelical Lutheran Church is celebrating its 195th homecoming. The Rev. John Stirewalt, pastor of St. John’s, Lexington, South Carolina, will deliver the message. Stirewalt’s grandparents, Murrell and Ruby Stirewalt, were faithful members of the congregation, and some of his extended family are current members. Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. A covered-dish lunch will be enjoyed at Efird’s Shelter on the church grounds afterward. Sunday school classes start at 9:15 a.m. and are available for all ages.
