SALISBURY — A Rowan County man was arrested for trafficking heroin after a five-month investigation, according to Rowan County deputies.

Officers from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the Salisbury Police Department arrested Muquan Bashier Ali Kennedy and charged him with 10 counts of trafficking in heroin and five counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver heroin.

Kennedy is at the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.

The five-month investigation was conducted by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation and Crime Reduction Units, with the assistance of the Salisbury Police Department, the Spencer Police Department and the Mocksville Police Department.

During the operation, about 70 grams of heroin was seized, with a street value in excess of $7,000.

Federal charges are also pending.
