A Concord High student organized a golf tournament and raised money for efforts at Concord Middle School.

Chloe Wagner, who is enrolled in the International Baccalaurate program, worked with Alan Cress at The Club at Irish Creek for a benefit golf tournament in December.

Cress, a former Concord Middle and High student, is the general manager for the club. He said he was glad to work on a project that helped students at his former school.

Cress and Wagner raised $1,000 with the tournament, which will be used by Concord Middle for Christmas efforts to benefit students.

For Wagner, this was her personal project for the IB program. She said she wanted to combine her love of golf, her dedication to her past middle school and her desire to help others.

She is a member of the Concord High golf team and competed in the N.C. High School Athletic Association regional golf tournament this season.
