CONCORD — Earth Fare in Concord will close its doors for good this week, just shy of three years from when it moved into the neighborhood.
The final day of business for the authentic specialty organic and natural food grocery store, located at Christenbury Corners, will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, the franchise announced.
Until then, everything in the store is 50 to 70 percent off.
Earth Fare, which is based in Asheville, opened its doors in Concord on June 28, 2017. At the time, it was the 41st Earth Fare location nationwide, and the fifth in the Greater Charlotte area.
This month, Earth Fare announced that it will close all of its stores and lay off thousands of employees.
Last week, signs were posted to let employees and customers know about the closings.
Earth Fare will be closing three stores in Charlotte, along with others in Concord, Huntersville, Fort Miller, Asheville, Boone, Greensboro, High Point, Morrisville and Raleigh.
The grocery store announced Feb. 3 that it was closing all of its about 50 stores within 10 states. Earth Fare filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
It has more than 3,000 employees.
