Concord Mills celebrates 20th anniversary

The Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce helped the mall celebrate its anniversary with a ribbon-cutting.

CONCORD – Concord Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in North Carolina is celebrating its 20th anniversary and the official completion of a three-year renovation, which includes added amenities and extensive internal and external upgrades. The center is launching month-long special promotions for guests to enjoy the new center and shop the latest retailers.

“We’re excited to host special offers and promotions for our neighbors and visitors to enjoy as part of the 20th anniversary,” said Ray Soporowski, General Manager at Concord Mills. “Without this wonderful community and loyal shoppers, we would not have the opportunities to continue to grow, upgrade and thrive like we are today. Recognizing this, we wanted to create a celebration that included everyone and encouraged them to come see what’s new and beautiful at Concord Mills.”

The center is launching “20 Days of Savings,” where 20 fan-favorite shopping, dining and family entertainment retailers – including Banana Republic Factory Store, Francesca’s, J. Crew Factory, Lionel Trains, Dave & Busters, SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord Aquarium and the recently-opened Pop Bar restaurant – will offer either 20% or $20 off qualifying purchases. Shoppers are welcome to stop by Guest Services to pick up the full list of participating retailers.

History of Concord Mills

The property officially opened on September 17, 1999 as home to the most popular shopping destinations, including Tommy Hilfiger and Brooks Brothers Factory Store. Additional trend-setting store fronts have since joined the center, creating a modern retail mix, including Coach Factory Store, Oakley Vault, kate spade new york, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, and Michael Kors. The center continues to grow, with Under Armor next to join the retail lineup, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Under Armor

Under Armor will join Concord Mills just in time for the holiday season.

When Concord Mills opened, the mall offered 65 payphones, which have been replaced by more than 50 cell phone charging stations. Additional upgrades that were recently completed as part of a full-property renovation include new LED lighting and paint, additional soft seating and lounge areas, a completely overhauled Dining Pavilion with a wider variety of food vendor options, added valet services and exterior upgrades as well.

Concord Mills recognizes how important ambiance is to visitors and strives to create an environment where they feel welcomed and can shop, dine and play in a beautiful, temperature-controlled, enjoyable space today and for years to come.
