Cabarrus County Schools Student Services and ESL Departments hosted a successful Hispanic Family Resource Night on Tuesday, October 1. More than 100 people attended the event to learn about the community resources available in Cabarrus County. Nineteen community agencies, including CCS programs, sent bilingual representatives and set-up information tables about the services they provide.
Volunteer teachers from various Cabarrus County schools provided activities for children, giving their parents an opportunity to visit with the agencies. Families were served food and refreshments donated by local restaurants and grocery store.
La Unica Concord, El Amigo Mexican Restaurant, Fiesta Mexicana Grill, Los Arcos in Kannapolis, and Food Lion provided food donations.
Partner agencies that participated included Finding Solutions, Cano Family Services, Cabarrus Partnership for Children, United Health Care, Cabarrus County Department of Human Services, El Puente Hispano, Concord Public Library, AmeriHealth Caritas, Rowan Cabarrus Community College, Cabarrus Health Alliance, Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Angeles de Esperanza, OnDoc, Patrica Botero Homes4Sale, Families First, CCS Program Choice, CCS School Nutrition, CCS EMPOWER and Mary Frances Wall Center.
