Traffic moves along Mooresville Road (N.C. 3) near the Kannapolis Parkway. The N.C. Department of Transportation has proposed improvements that include widening Mooresville Road to a four-lane roadway with a variable width median up to 23 feet wide, with sidewalks on both sides. KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The N.C. Department of Transportation is moving forward with plans to widen and improve 2.5 miles of Mooresville Road between Kannapolis Parkway and Loop Road – a project expected to displace 32 residences and five businesses.
