Train clips dump truck, shuts down Shamrock Road railroad crossing

Emergency service workers respond to a wreck at the Shamrock Road railroad crossing in Harrisburg on Thursday where a dump truck was clipped by a train. No injuries were reported in the wreck which occurred about 2:52 p.m. The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the wreck. The railroad crossing was closed for more than an hour after the wreck, which had strewn small boulders across the road. Harrisburg Fire Department, Cabarrus County EMS and the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office responded to the wreck.
